Miko just grins at her impishly with her arms crossed. “And I suppose someone dressed up so handsomely doesn’t have time to spend on a commoner like me, hm?” I even bothered to make myself look pretty, you know?” She gazes out towards the street then at the dreary sky. “Well, I’m sorry for wanting to make small talk,” Miko scoffs. The stranger just looks down again, seemingly preferring to pretend Miko doesn’t even exist. The stranger opens her eyes and passes an unamused look at her. “It’s a bit rude to not say anything after staring, don’t you think?” Miko quips. She sits her bum down on the cold, metal bench, shutting her eyes. However, the stranger seems to lose interest and sets her stare downcast. She bats her eyes a few times, fluttering her eyelashes. God those arms of hers could easily snap her like a twig. Their eyes lock into a little staring contest, with the stranger’s pointed gaze quietly scrutinizing Miko who returns a subtle, sleazy leer. The stranger casts a cautionary glance that pierces into Miko. Miko laughs to herself, and it catches her attention. At least Miko could share a common plight with such a gorgeous looking stranger. The woman mutters curses under her breath. ![]() Too bad she’s wearing a tank top underneath. Her blouse is damp, except for the front over her breasts which have been utterly drenched. She shakes her head and sweeps her long purple locks to her back, then she strips off her jacket and drapes it over her arm. A tall, broad professional looking woman steps under the protective canopy of the bus stop. Hasty footsteps cut through the roaring rain, prompting Miko to throw an investigative glance. Her mind would be led astray by childish wonder, sucked into the colorful world of shows they’d watch on TV. The sound of her placing a tray full of an assortment of goodies on the coffee table would steal tiny little Miko’s attention.Ī nostalgic little grin tugs her lips, reminiscing of the times she’d huddle up against Auntie’s side whilst she’d nibble on a baked treat. An airy, silvery chuckle would fill the room. As a small little pup, she would gaze longingly out the window, pleading the rain to stop so the rainbows Auntie promised could show themselves. Of course the bus just has to be late, especially now of all times.Īuntie Saiguu had always said that rainbows always come after a storm. What a shame, they had such cute sakura motifs. She cringes at the disgusting feeling of it squelching under her fingers. She uncomfortably fidgets and fingers the wet fabric sticking to her skin. The top half of her might’ve been saved from the rain, but her stockings looked beyond saving. Miko grumbles some profanities under her breath. It would’ve been a shame not to doll herself up just a bit on this nice day. Still, it looked to be such a beautiful day just mere moments ago. How unfortunate, but she brought this fate upon herself, she surmises. The rain showed no mercy for her fine shoes and favorite leggings. ![]() She’s absolutely drenched-a sad, sopping mess. I love this place and I can’t wait to go back with my friend Sandy this upcoming Friday. The weather forecast this morning said there’s going to be a light shower today, not a fucking flash flood. Jeff ordered the California Club and said it was very good.Īnd Gracie had a lemon poppy seed scone with Devonshire cream and lemon curd. The Turkey and Asparagus Hot Twig Sandwich Gratin It really was fantastic chili, so I’m not complaining. Had I known that it would be so filling, I wouldn’t have ordered the soup du jour (chili con carne) as a first course. These sandwiches are served open faced with meat and other toppings generously piled on the bread and gooey cheese melted over the top. Apparently the hot brown is a rendition of the fare served across the pond. Rita told me these sandwiches are inspired by the traditional, hearty dish in England called a Hot Brown, and I learned a little bit more about this sandwich HERE. I had heard good things about the “Hot Twig” sandwich from my friend Jane, so I decided to try that. ![]() Andie couldn’t join us this time, but I look forward to treating her and her BFF Trisha to a tea at Wisteria very soon. We went to try the lunch menu two days after the breakfast tea with my friends. After my first experience at Wisteria Twig I just knew I had to introduce this place to my hubby and girls.
